doodlewear 'Heron + Scallops' (May 2023) art print Heron tshirt, a special collaboration between two of our talented Doodlewear contributing artists, Lesh McNicholl of Lesh Creates and Penny Royal of Penny Royal Design. These high-quality t-shirts feature a contemporary yet retro-style art print of a heron bird surrounded by pink-toned scallops. Acrylic paint and Indian ink pen were used for the heron by Lesh, and watercolour and ink for the scallops by Penny. The artists have digitally signed this unique artwork.
"We both appreciate each other's art styles and have a strong desire to collaborate. With a plethora of art elements from our respective bodies of work, we carefully selected the ones that complemented each other the most. Penny skilfully intertwined our art in a playful manner, creating a harmonious fusion. We both have a special interest in New Zealand native birds and sea life, and we wanted to combine our artwork to create a new look!"
