doodlewear "Rise & Shine" (July 2024) art print endometriosis t shirt by New Zealand illustrative artist Lesh Creates. These high-quality tees feature an art print of a large sunflower, painted with acrylic pen in a contemporary style with a retro vibe. The artist has digitally signed the artwork.

"Endometriosis is represented by the sunflower, a flower that naturally symbolises light and life, serving as an emblem of hope for all women who ‘rise and shine’ every day, showing strength and courage."

Art for a cause: $5 from every Rise & Shine tee sold will go to Endometriosis NZ.

Lesh will generously donate $5 from every Rise & Shine tee sold to Endometriosis NZ

Endometriosis New Zealand provides a platform to share stories from people affected by endometriosis. You can ask experts for advice, participate in events, read blogs, access resources, and more. Fact: 1 in 10 women/girls assigned female at birth (120,000) in New Zealand have endometriosis. It varies in severity and can cause debilitating pain, multiple ER visits, and infertility. Endometriosis can be found anywhere in the body, not just near the uterus. To diagnose endometriosis, you may experience symptoms related to your cycle. Exams, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRI scans, and laparoscopic surgery—the gold standard for diagnosis and treatment—are commonly used. More info can be found HERE.

"What motivated me to donate to Endometriosis NZ is that, after many years of worsening symptoms and pain (severe in some cases), I finally went to the doctor. She arranged for me to have ultrasounds and CT scans, which revealed some issues related to endometriosis. I had laparoscopic surgery in January 2024, which confirmed the diagnosis. Some women also have the "sister" disease, Adenomyosis, and I have evidence of that as well. I am about to undergo surgery for it after more conservative measures failed to work.

Endometriosis is represented by the sunflower, a flower that naturally symbolises light and life. It serves as an emblem of hope for all women who "Rise and Shine" every day, showing strength and courage.

Little is known about what causes endometriosis or why some women develop it, and there is no cure—only management of symptoms. I want to raise awareness and help raise funds so that more research can be done, giving future generations of women the answers they deserve." ~ Lesh
